Tutoring a classroom in

Elementary

A tutoring experience with 4th graders learning how to take care of different talents and ages while also forming an authoritative presence that matches my style.

This course highlighted the importance of teaching others, especially in areas you are familiar with. I had the opportunity to tutor 4th graders and get to know their individual needs. I had to observe and ask questions related to both the classroom and the students.

This experience taught me the importance of slowing down and observing my surroundings to fully understand the task at hand. I can apply these observation skills in the workplace by being attentive and recognizing the value of asking questions.

Another major lesson I learned was how to take on an authoritative role. Observing the teacher and assistant teacher was invaluable, as it gave me enough insight to experiment with and understand what kind of authoritative figure I naturally gravitate toward.
